Schwabacher Cabin is named for Jack Schwabacher, who spent his life running cattle throughout the western United States. Jack owned and operated the Quarter Circle 5, in Daniel, Wyoming, originally purchased by his father, the late Albert E. Schwabacher, in 1942. Totally immersed in the cattle industry, Jack operated a feedlot for many years and was a well known breeder of racing and working quarter horses.
During Jacks realm with the Quarter Circle 5, the ranch headquarters, or home place, was in Daniel, but the winter operation was located in Tres Penos, California. You can think of the Schwabachers on each drive into the Flying A Ranch. Once you leave the paved highway, and as you drive along the winding road to our Ranch, notice the lush - grassy, rolling hills that surround you. Look at the fat cattle grazing in the distance, notice the Quarter Circle 5 brand on their hides and know that this is part of the Schwabacher - Quarter Circle 5 Ranch.
Jack Schwabacher passed away in 1997, leaving a great void in the local ranching community. But the Quarter Circle 5 lives on and is now operated by his children Jackson, Gorden and Susan.
The Schwabacher cabin is our latest cabin. It is furnished with a queen size bed, shower/tub, wet bar, sitting area and covered porch. It is our most secluded cabin with great views of the lake and surrounding mountains.
