Doyle Cabin is named after Art Doyle, a one-legged horse trainer who arrived in the Green River Valley in the late 1800's. His first job in the area was with a fellow named Topance who claimed later not to have noticed during the job interview that 'something was missing.' The story went that Art stood with his good side towards Topance as they spoke, turning to face his new boss only after being offered some work. Art quickly proved that he could ride bucking horses with the best of the cowboys. His secret, he maintained, was never to let a horse know that he had only one leg!
Art bought a ranch of his own in the valley around 1906 and, with the help of friends and neighbors, ran a good sized herd, mostly of Durham cattle. He was luckier at cattle ranching than he was in love. Art married a very attractive women named Pearl Simmons. It's been written in some local histories that, on the whole, Pearl was just too much woman for one man. The marriage didn't last.
Doyle Cabin can be furnished with either two twin beds or a king-size bed. It contains a bath with a shower, kitchenette, living room with fireplace, and a covered deck with mountain view.
